A brand new gallery is now open in the Natural History Museum, Colchester, exploring climate change and millions of years of history! With interactive activities, stunning fossils, stories and ancient species such as the giant shark – the new gallery is a must see.
The gallery explores past climates, life forms and environments, focusing on the Colchester area and some of the events that have happened here. Climate change is also looked at and the gallery charts how in the past changes to the climate were natural, unlike today where the cause is mankind. Visitors can discover more about the Great Tide of 1953 and the Great Storm of 1987, hearing real life accounts of those that witnessed them first hand.
