The Edwardian years have been described as a golden age dominated by music halls, variety theatres and family get-togethers around the piano. The nation certainly loved their entertainment and Colchester was no exception. In 1903 the town went wild when Buffalo Bill arrived with his famous Wild West Show. In 1909 the town was the venue for one of the country's greatest historical pageants.
