The Phillips Children by John Vine

This watercolor was painted in about 1840 by John Vine, a succesful artist who lived in Colchester in the mid nineteenth century. He was born disabled, having only rudimentary arms. His talent as an artist was apparent from childhood and as an adult he travelled widely undertaking commisions for portraits of animals and people.
