This is a fine mosaic floor, found in 1979. It once graced
a wealthy Roman house that lay just outside the Roman town
walls. Its design includes pictures of sea-beasts, birds and
a central panel with wrestling cupids (the image is reproduced
courtesy of the Colchester Archaeological Trust)
