Coin AD 46 - 47
After the Roman Emperor Claudius
invaded Britain in AD 43, he issued these gold coins to mark the
conquest. One face of the coin has the image of the Emperor;
the other shows the triumphal arch which Claudius built in Rome
to celebrate his victory.
